Perched on the hills overlooking the harbour, Welcome Bay properties take the full force of the westerlies.
This constant wind pressure causes timber and framing to flex slightly. Standard acrylic paints are brittle; when the house moves, the paint cracks. At Tomar Contracting, we use High-Build Flexible Acrylics. These coatings are designed to stretch with your home, preventing the hairline cracks that let moisture in and rot your cladding.

Context: Welcome Bay is famous for its large decks on pole foundations.
The Problem: These decks are fully exposed to UV and rain, leading to cupping, splintering, and grey timber.
The Solution: We specialize in Deck Restoration. We strip back the old coating and apply deep-penetrating oils (like Dryden or Wood-X) that nourish the timber and keep it safe for bare feet.
Context: Steep driveways and hillside sections make access hard for ordinary painters.
The Solution: We don't shy away from the slopes. We own adaptable mobile scaffolding and specialized rigging equipment to reach high soffits and gables safely, often saving you the cost of a massive full-wrap scaffold.
Context: Wind drives salt spray up under your eaves.
The Solution: We perform a thorough chemical wash of all soffits to remove salt build-up before painting. We use mould-resistant enamels to keep these shaded areas bright and clean.

Yes. We are experts in difficult access. We can use “pump jack” scaffolding or boom lifts (cherry pickers) where driveway access allows, or erect tube-and-clip scaffolding for the trickiest spots.
Yes. We often find rot in corners (scribers) on hillside homes. We can cut out and replace damaged timber and scribers before we paint, so you don't need to hire a separate builder.
